How We Test, Score and Make Money

BestPurifier.in exists because water and air purifier advice in India is unusually bad. Product listings inflate stage counts, brands market UV lamps as 'e-boiling', wellness claims get attached to cartridges with no clinical basis, and almost nobody tells a reader in Kochi that the RO purifier they are about to buy is the wrong product for their water.

Our editorial position is simple: the correct purifier is a function of your water and your air, not of which brand advertises hardest. That leads us to recommendations other sites will not make — that a ₹1,449 gravity purifier is genuinely sufficient for a large number of Indian homes, that alkaline water's health claims do not hold up, that a Dyson is a worse use of ₹55,000 than three good purifiers in three bedrooms.

Every product gets an editorial score out of 10, built from five weighted sub-scores that we publish on each review so you can disagree with our weighting:

Two ways, both disclosed. First, marketplace affiliate commissions: if you buy through an Amazon or Flipkart link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Second, commercial leads: when a business, society or factory requests a quotation for a commercial or industrial water treatment system, we work on that enquiry directly.

Neither affects rankings. The practical test of that claim is what we publish: our recommendations regularly point readers toward cheaper products than they came looking for, and our guides regularly tell readers not to buy things. A site optimising purely for commission would not tell you that a ₹2,790 gravity purifier is the correct choice for Kerala, or that you should not buy RO on 150 ppm water.

• No fabricated ratings. Marketplace star ratings are published only where we have verified them against the live listing. Our own scores are clearly labelled as editorial assessments.
• Prices are dated. Every product page shows when the price was last verified, because Indian street prices move constantly and an undated price is misleading.
• Indicative data is labelled as indicative. City TDS and AQI figures are planning ranges compiled from public reporting, not live readings, and every city page says so and tells you to test your own supply.
• No unverified business claims. We do not publish certifications we do not hold, client logos we have no permission to use, or client counts we cannot substantiate.
• Health claims get scrutinised, not repeated. Where a marketing claim lacks clinical support — alkaline water being the clearest example — we say so plainly.
• Corrections are made quickly. If we get something wrong, email us and we will fix it.

• We do not provide medical advice. Content here is general information about water and air quality. For health concerns, see a doctor.
• We do not publish brand customer-care phone numbers, because they change and stale numbers route people to third parties impersonating brand support. We link to official support pages instead.
• We do not generate comparison pages for every possible product pairing, or city pages that differ only by a swapped city name. Both are doorway-page patterns and neither helps a reader.
