A bedroom fan is judged on two things a hall fan is not: how quiet it is at low speed, and what it costs to run all night. Both point at a BLDC motor, which holds a steady low speed without the hum an induction fan makes on a dimmed regulator, and draws 25-35 W instead of 75 W.

For a standard 10x10 ft bedroom a 1,200 mm sweep is right; for anything under about 8x8 ft, 900 mm. A remote matters more here than anywhere else in the house, and a sleep mode that steps the speed down through the night is genuinely useful.

What room size fan do I need for a bedroom?
A standard 10x10 ft to 12x12 ft bedroom takes a 1,200 mm fan. Under about 8x8 ft, 900 mm is enough. Larger than 12x15 ft, go to 1,400 mm. Getting the sweep right matters more than buying a higher-RPM fan.
Does a bigger fan always cool better?
A bigger sweep moves more air, but only if the room can take it — a fan needs roughly a foot of clearance from the wall at the blade tip, and about 9-10 ft above the floor. Oversizing a small room gives you a fan that is unpleasant on high and wasteful on low.
How many fans do I need for a large room?
Above about 18 ft in length, two fans spaced along the room work better than one very large fan in the centre, because a single fan cannot throw air evenly that far.
