Philips 2000i Series AC2939
The sensible default for most Indian homes
- Numeric PM2.5 display means you can actually verify it is working, not trust a colour
- 333 m³/h CADR genuinely covers a large Indian drawing room
Updated August 2026 · Independent testing-led rankings
Two numbers decide whether an air purifier improves your life: whether the filter is genuinely H13 HEPA, and whether its CADR is large enough for the room you put it in. Almost everything else in air purifier marketing — ion counts, stage counts, sleek app dashboards — is secondary to those two facts.
The terminology trap is worth knowing before you shop. 'HEPA-type', 'HEPA-like' and 'HEPA-style' are not weaker grades of HEPA; they are explicit signals that the filter does not meet the standard, and they appear on a lot of Indian listings. Insist on 'True HEPA' or 'H13'.
The sizing trap is the second one. Manufacturer coverage figures assume a sealed room of exactly that size with no ongoing pollution source, which describes no real Indian home. Take the claimed coverage, and buy one class up — two classes up in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida or Gurugram. And buy one purifier per bedroom rather than one large unit for the flat, because purified air does not travel usefully through doorways. For most families, two ₹13,000 units beat one ₹40,000 unit comfortably.
The sensible default for most Indian homes
Korean engineering, wall-mountable, exceptionally quiet
Fully-sealed HEPA H13, formaldehyde destruction, and a fan
The value benchmark nobody has beaten
360-degree intake for large open living spaces
The quiet bedroom specialist
The bestselling bedroom Philips, still excellent value
Thick carbon bed built for Indian traffic pollution
Streamer discharge that decomposes odours rather than trapping them
HEPA plus Plasmacluster ion technology
Each of these is a separate ranked list, because the right answer genuinely changes with your water, your room and your budget.
