Start from the problem
Solutions by situation
Not “best water purifier” but “what does a newborn’s room actually need”, “what does borewell supply require”, “what works in a rented flat”. Each page begins with the problem and ends with a specification you can take to any shop.
The standard way to write buying content is to start from a product category and work backwards to a justification. It produces pages that are easy to write and useless at the moment of decision, because the reader's actual question is not 'which of these' but 'what does my situation need'.
These pages invert that. The problem comes first, requirements second, specification third, and products — where we hold relevant ones — fourth and clearly below the specification. That ordering is what allows a page to conclude that the right next purchase is a ₹2,000 carbon monoxide alarm, or a ₹1,500 water test, or nothing at all until a result comes back.
Whole-home situations
- Newborn or infant's roomNew parents in Indian cities are sold a great deal for a nursery, and the two interventions that carry the strongest evidence are among the cheapest..₹12,000–₹35,000
- 2BHK apartmentA 2BHK is the default Indian urban home and the default target of coverage claims that do not survive contact with a floor plan..₹25,000–₹70,000
- Rented apartmentIn a rented flat, the usual optimisation changes. A plumbed-in under-sink system that is excellent value over eight years is a poor decision if you move in eighteen months — uninstalling, transporting, re-plumbing and re-commissioning it costs money and usually breaks something..₹8,000–₹30,000
- High-rise apartmentIn a tower, your water has been pumped to an overhead tank and gravity-fed back down, and both stages matter. Pressure at a high floor immediately below the tank can be too low for an RO unit to operate without a booster..₹15,000–₹45,000
- Office & workplaceOffice air and water purchases go wrong in two consistent ways, and both are sizing errors against the wrong variable..₹80,000–₹5,00,000
Water situations
- Borewell supplyBorewell water is not one thing. Two wells a hundred metres apart, drilled to different depths, can differ by an order of magnitude in iron, hardness, fluoride and arsenic..₹15,000–₹60,000
- High TDS waterHigh TDS is the one condition a handheld meter genuinely diagnoses, and it is a real problem: water above roughly 1,000 ppm tastes salty or bitter, and BIS's acceptable limit is 500 mg/L..₹16,000–₹45,000
- Tanker supplyTanker supply has a property no other source has: it changes between deliveries, and you cannot verify any of it. Source, tank hygiene, filling practice and transit conditions all vary, and none of them are visible to the customer..₹10,000–₹35,000
- Old building plumbingIn an older building, the water leaving the municipal main may be fine and the water arriving at your tap may not be — because the plumbing between them is doing something to it..₹10,000–₹30,000
Air situations
- Kitchen smoke & cooking fumesHigh-temperature Indian cooking — tadka, deep frying, tawa roti — generates fine particulate concentrations that frequently exceed simultaneous outdoor levels, even in a polluted city..₹10,000–₹40,000
- Home with cats or dogsPet allergen behaves differently from most household allergens, and the difference decides what works..₹12,000–₹35,000
- Road-facing bedroomProximity to a busy road raises indoor concentrations of both particulate and nitrogen dioxide, and the effect falls off sharply with distance — a flat on the street side and one on the courtyard side of the same building are not comparable..₹14,000–₹40,000
Frequently asked questions
How are these different from your collection pages?
Why do you give a specification instead of naming a product?
Several pages tell me to get a water test first. Why?
What if my situation is a combination of these?
Budget bands are indicative Indian market ranges for planning rather than quotations, last reviewed 2026-08-08. Where a page recommends testing before buying, the specification genuinely depends on the result — that is not a hedge, it is the reason the recommendation would otherwise be a guess.
