This page lists the fans whose manufacturers build and market them specifically for quiet running — Crompton's SilentPro range, Orient's Aerosilent range, and the BLDC models where low noise is a stated design goal rather than an afterthought.

A BLDC motor starts with an advantage here: there are no brushes, and the electronic controller can hold a genuinely steady low speed instead of the shuddering hum an induction fan makes on a dimmed regulator. Most complaints about fan noise at low speed are actually complaints about the regulator.

An honest caveat: almost none of these brands publish a noise figure in decibels, so this page cannot rank on measured sound. It ranks on the manufacturer's own low-noise positioning plus the motor type. If a dB figure matters to you, ask the dealer for the test sheet.

How we chose these

Stated low-noise design, not inferred

A fan is listed where the manufacturer's own range or copy is built on quiet running, or where it is BLDC and marketed on silence. We do not call a fan silent just because it is BLDC.

No invented decibel figures

These brands do not publish noise in dB. We would rather say so than print a number nobody measured.

Frequently asked questions

Which ceiling fan is quietest for a bedroom?
A BLDC fan from a range built for quiet running — Crompton SilentPro or Orient Aerosilent here. The bigger gain is that a BLDC fan holds a low speed cleanly, where an induction fan on a dimmed regulator hums. Size it so it is comfortable on speed two or three rather than on five.
Why is my ceiling fan noisy at low speed?
Usually the regulator, not the fan. A conventional regulator cuts voltage and the motor hums on the reduced supply. A BLDC fan sets speed electronically and does not do this. Rattles that change with speed are normally loose blade screws or a downrod that needs tightening.
Do silent ceiling fans move less air?
Not if you size them properly. Noise mostly comes from motor hum and blade turbulence at high speed, so a fan large enough to be comfortable on a middle speed is quieter than a smaller one working hard. Compare air delivery in CMM, not RPM.
Do manufacturers publish a noise rating for ceiling fans?
Rarely in India. None of the eight brands verified here states a decibel figure on its product pages, which is why this page ranks on stated low-noise design and motor type instead.
