Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data BestPurifier.in collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese, and to be specific rather than vague — particularly about the data collected automatically when you submit an enquiry.

Who we are

BestPurifier.in is an independent publisher of water and air purifier buying guidance, and a supplier of commercial and industrial water treatment systems. For any privacy question, contact betterworkindia@gmail.com.

What we collect when you submit an enquiry

When you use a "Get a Quote", "Send Enquiry" or contact form on this site, we collect the following. The first group is what you type; the second group is collected automatically and we want to be explicit about it.

Information you provide:

• Your name
• Your mobile number (Indian, +91)
• Your email address (optional on consumer forms; required for commercial quotations)
• Your city (optional)
• Your message, and for commercial enquiries your organisation, business type and estimated capacity

Information collected automatically with your submission:

• The page URL you submitted from, and the page you first landed on
• Your referring website, if any
• UTM campaign parameters and click identifiers (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, gclid, fbclid)
• Your IP address
• An approximate location derived from your IP address (city, region, country, postal area, and approximate coordinates), obtained by sending your IP address to a third-party IP geolocation service
• Your browser user-agent string
• The time of submission

Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiry. Your name, phone, email and message exist so we can contact you about the thing you asked about.
• To give relevant advice. Your city and IP-derived location help us recommend appropriate technology, because water quality and air quality vary enormously across India, and to tell you whether we can service your area.
• To understand which content generates enquiries. Page URL, referrer and UTM parameters tell us which guides and campaigns are useful, so we can invest in more of them.
• To prevent abuse. IP address and submission timing are used for rate limiting and spam prevention.

Legal basis

We process enquiry data on the basis of your consent, given by submitting the form, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, preventing abuse and understanding how our content performs. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection framework, submitting an enquiry constitutes consent for us to contact you about that enquiry. You may withdraw it at any time by emailing us.

Where your data is stored and who sees it

• Enquiry data is stored in a MongoDB database. Access is limited to people who need it to respond to your enquiry or to fulfil a commercial requirement.
• Your IP address is sent to a third-party IP geolocation service in order to derive an approximate location. That request contains your IP address and nothing else about you.
• We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. Where fulfilling a commercial installation requires involving an installation or service partner, we share only what is necessary for that purpose and only after you have engaged us.

How long we keep it

Consumer enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months from your last interaction, after which it is deleted. Commercial enquiry and quotation data is retained for up to 7 years, because commercial water treatment projects have long sales and warranty cycles and we may need the record. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time.

Cookies, storage and analytics

• We use your browser's sessionStorage to remember campaign attribution (UTM parameters) during your visit, so that information survives you navigating between pages before submitting a form.
• We use localStorage to remember that you have dismissed the enquiry pop-up, so it does not reappear. This is a single flag and contains no personal data.
• Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages are read, which guides lead to enquiries, and which products readers click through to. It sets cookies and collects your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you view. IP anonymisation is enabled, and we do not use it to identify you personally or link it to your enquiry record.
• Alongside pageviews we record three specific events: a click on a marketplace (affiliate) link, an enquiry form submission, and use of one of our calculators. These tell us which content is genuinely useful. They record the product, page or tool involved — not who you are.
• You can opt out entirely by installing Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser. The site works normally either way.

Affiliate links

Product links on this site may be affiliate links to Amazon or Flipkart, carrying a tracking parameter that allows those marketplaces to attribute a purchase to us. When you click one, you are subject to that marketplace's own privacy policy and cookies, not ours. We receive commission reporting from them, not your personal information. See our affiliate disclosure.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal data we hold about you
• Correct anything that is inaccurate
• Delete your data
• Stop contacting you
• Withdraw consent you previously gave

Email betterworkindia@gmail.com with your request and the phone number or email address you used, so we can locate your record. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in an access-controlled database. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — but we limit what we collect, limit who can access it, and delete it on the schedule above.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially we will update the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
