Philips' AC-series air purifiers combine real HEPA filtration, an honest numeric PM2.5 readout rather than a vague colour ring, and India's best-supported purifier service network at prices well below Dyson. In male grooming Philips is simply the market — OneBlade, the BT/MG trimmer families and the Series 3000-9000 shavers together hold a share no rival approaches, and the reason is unglamorous: spare combs, replacement blades and service centres exist in tier-2 and tier-3 India, which is where most trimmers actually die.

Philips's service network is rated very good in our assessment. That means reliable coverage across metros and tier-2 cities, with reasonable reach into smaller towns.

Before buying, check one thing the specification sheet will not tell you: whether replacement combs, blades or foils for the exact model are actually purchasable in India today. A Philips device with a lost comb and no spares route is a dead device, and that — far more often than a motor failure — is how grooming machines end up in a drawer.

  • Raise service requests through Philips's official website only — https://www.philips.co.in/support. Third parties advertising "authorised Philipsservice" frequently have no brand relationship, charge more and fit non-genuine parts.
  • Always insist on a ticket or complaint reference number, and note the promised response window.

Over four years this inverts the price comparison completely. Buy it if: you want a trimmer or shaver that still cuts properly in year four.
