Almost every purifier sold in India stores purified water in a sealed plastic tank at room temperature for hours at a time. In a Chennai or Kochi summer, that is an excellent environment for biofilm, and it is the failure mode nobody markets against. LG's answer is the right one on both counts: a stainless-steel tank that resists colonisation, and an automatic UV cycle that sterilises the tank and the outlet tap every couple of hours whether you remember to think about it or not.

Most air purifiers pull air from one face, which means placement matters enormously and a unit shoved into a corner underperforms badly. LG's 360-degree intake removes that constraint, and combined with the Clean Booster fan it is the only single unit here I would trust to handle a genuinely large open-plan living and dining space.

LG's service network is rated very good in our assessment. That means reliable coverage across metros and tier-2 cities, with reasonable reach into smaller towns.

Before ordering any purifier, call the brand's customer care, give them your pin code and ask two questions: is there a technician covering this area, and how many days does a filter-change request typically take? Then ask for the AMC price in writing. That five-minute call prevents most of the regret in this category.

Raise service requests through LG's official website only — https://www.lg.com/in/support. Third parties advertising "authorised LGservice" frequently have no brand relationship, charge more and fit non-genuine parts.
Always insist on a ticket or complaint reference number, and note the promised response window.
Ask the technician to record input and output TDS readings on the service slip at every visit. It is your evidence base and it makes vague diagnoses much harder to sustain.
