What makes industrial RO maintenance different in Bengaluru
Bengaluru runs on municipal mixed supply at roughly 250-750 ppm with hard water, and averages around AQI 94 with winter peaks near 180. Both figures matter for industrial RO maintenance here — they set the design assumptions any competent provider should be working to.
The combination of high dissolved solids and hard water in Bengaluru means pre-treatment is not optional. Systems specified without it foul early, and the saving on the quotation is repaid several times over in membrane replacements within the first two years.
TDS and AQI figures for Bengaluru are indicative planning ranges compiled from publicly reported CPCB and CGWB-style patterns. They are not live readings and they vary by locality, borewell depth and season. Test your own supply before making a purchase decision — water testing in Bengaluru costs ₹300-₹2,500.

Indicative market rates, useful for sanity-checking any quote you receive. Providers in the same city routinely differ by 40-60% on identical work, which is the whole reason to collect more than one.

What's included in industrial RO maintenance
This is the scope we ask providers to quote against. Holding every quote to the same list is what makes them comparable — otherwise you are choosing the cheapest number rather than the best value.
- Scheduled preventive visits — monthly or quarterly, defined in the contract.
- Daily-log review with normalised flux and salt rejection plotted and trended.
- CIP (clean-in-place) as scheduled and as triggered by performance thresholds.
- Pre-treatment servicing — media backwash and top-up, softener regeneration check, dosing calibration.
- Cartridge filter replacement at defined intervals.
- Instrumentation calibration — conductivity, pressure and flow.
- Pump and motor condition monitoring, including current draw and vibration.
- Breakdown response within a stated SLA window.
- Membrane replacement when performance thresholds are crossed, on condition rather than calendar.
Not included
- Membrane elements themselves on non-comprehensive contracts — confirm which structure you are buying.
- Major pump or motor replacement, and control panel rebuilds.
- Plant capacity upgrades and design modifications.
How it works
- 1Tell us what you needOne short form — your city, the job, and how soon you need it. Takes under a minute and costs nothing.
- 2We match you with local providersWe route your request to up to 3 verified providers who actually cover your area, so you are not waiting on someone forty kilometres away.
- 3Compare the quotesThey contact you directly, usually by WhatsApp so you get it in writing. Check what you are quoted against the indicative rates published on this page.
- 4Book whoever you wantYou deal with the provider directly and pay them for the work. There is no obligation to accept any quote.
The parameters your operator should log daily
- Feed, permeate and reject flow rates — and therefore recovery ratio.
- Feed, permeate and reject conductivity — and therefore salt rejection.
- Feed pressure, membrane differential pressure, and permeate pressure.
- Feed temperature, without which none of the above can be normalised.
- Cartridge filter differential pressure — the earliest sign pre-treatment is loading.
- Softener outlet hardness and antiscalant tank level.
- Pump current draw, which trends upward before a mechanical failure announces itself.
Tip
When to clean, and with what
Trigger CIP when normalised flux drops 10-15% from the commissioning baseline, when normalised salt passage rises 10-15%, or when membrane differential pressure rises 15%. Any one of those crossing threshold is the signal; waiting for two is waiting too long.
The chemistry follows the foulant. Alkaline cleaning at high pH addresses organic and biological fouling and silica. Acid cleaning at low pH addresses scale — calcium carbonate, sulphates and metal oxides. Most plants need both in sequence, and the order matters: alkaline first where organics dominate, acid first where scaling dominates. Getting this wrong can set foulant harder rather than remove it.
A properly executed CIP is measured, not eyeballed: recirculation at controlled temperature and flow, adequate soak, and a post-clean normalised reading to confirm recovery. If the numbers do not recover after cleaning, the fouling has become irreversible and membrane replacement is the honest answer.
Structuring the contract
- Define comprehensive versus non-comprehensive explicitly. Comprehensive should include membranes; many contracts described as full exclude exactly that.
- State visit frequency and what each visit covers, so 'preventive maintenance' has content.
- Define the breakdown response SLA in hours, and attach a penalty. Without one it is an aspiration.
- Specify that normalised performance data is reviewed and reported at every visit.
- Name the consumables covered — cartridges, media, antiscalant, CIP chemicals, softener salt.
- Agree membrane replacement criteria in advance, based on normalised thresholds rather than the provider's judgement on the day.
- For production-critical plants, agree critical spares held on site: cartridges, one membrane element, dosing pump, key instrumentation.
What "verified" means for providers in Bengaluru
It is a specific claim, so here is exactly what it covers. Every provider on this network has:
- Government photo ID and address verified at onboarding
- Business registration or GST number on file where applicable
- References checked from at least three completed jobs
- Agreed to publish itemised pricing before starting work
- Agreed to record input and output TDS on every service slip
- Removed from the network after two unresolved customer complaints
Verification covers identity, registration and references. It is not a guarantee of workmanship on any individual job, and we are not a party to the contract between you and the provider — you engage and pay them directly. If a job goes wrong, tell us: providers are removed from the network after two unresolved complaints.
What you get from us
