Foldable and flip phones trade some durability, battery capacity and price for a larger screen or a smaller pocketable size. Water-resistance ratings describe tested conditions, not waterproofing: IP68 and IP69 phones survive rain, splashes and accidental dunks under the tested depth and time, but water damage is usually excluded from warranty, so treat the rating as protection against accidents rather than permission to swim with the phone.
