On its terms it is fine: it cuts hair, it charges, the combs fit, and if it dies in eighteen months you have lost ₹549. For a student buying a first trimmer with genuinely no budget, that is a legitimate transaction.
What you must understand before buying is that this is a consumable rather than an appliance. The blades are uncoated stainless steel and will dull inside a year of regular use, and there is no practical route to replacing them. The battery is not user-replaceable either, so when the cell fails the machine is finished. Plan for a total life of roughly eighteen months and you will not be disappointed.
The honest advice for anyone who can stretch is to stretch. At ₹899 the Syska HT1500 adds Type-C charging and a two-year warranty; at ₹949 the Philips BT1232 adds self-sharpening blades rated for four years. Both cost less per year of use than this does. Buy the Nova because ₹549 is your ceiling today, not because it is good value over time — it is not.
