How to choose between them

Start with service. An AC is installed, serviced before every summer and occasionally repaired, so the brand with a quick installer in your pin code is worth more than a small efficiency edge. Call the brand's service line with your pin code and ask for typical installation and breakdown response times before buying.

Then compare the published numbers. Brands that publish ISEER, annual units, rated capacity and warranty make it possible to choose on facts. Where a brand omits them, read the BEE label on the unit, or choose a brand that publishes them.

Brands not in our rankings

Godrej and O General sell capable air conditioners in India and publish specifications on their own sites, but we could not verify a price for any of their current models from their official stores or a reputable retailer when we checked in September 2026, so they are not ranked here. Whirlpool's India site was not serving its AC pages at the time. We add brands when we can verify both price and specification.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best AC brand in India?
There is no single best. Voltas and Blue Star lead on service reach, which matters most outside metros. Blue Star, Panasonic and Daikin lead on published efficiency and features. Samsung and Haier offer the longest warranties. Choose the brand that services your area well and publishes the figures you want to compare.
Voltas or Blue Star — which is better?
Voltas has the wider service network and bundles five years' comprehensive warranty on its brand-store split ACs. Blue Star publishes ISEER and annual units, offers the most efficient 1.5 ton we compare (IC718QCUS, ISEER 5.85) and rates more models to 54-56°C. For efficiency, Blue Star; for reach in small towns, Voltas.
LG or Daikin AC — which is better?
Daikin publishes far more specification — ISEER, annual units, minimum noise and capacity at high temperature — and includes PM 2.5 filters. LG rates its units to 55°C and runs stabiliser-free from 120 V, but does not publish ISEER on its product pages. On what can be verified, Daikin is easier to recommend; LG's service network is strong.
Is Godrej, O General or Whirlpool a good AC brand?
All three sell established AC ranges in India. We have not ranked them because we could not verify current prices from official or reputable sources in September 2026. If you are considering one, compare its BEE label's annual units and rated capacity against the ranked models here.
