Important

Queries like 'ceiling fan under ₹500' or 'under ₹1,000' cannot be satisfied by a real branded ceiling fan. Anything at that price is a table or wall fan, or a listing you should not trust.

Why the sticker price is the wrong comparison

A ₹2,000 induction fan drawing 75 W costs about ₹1,512 a year to run. A ₹3,500 BLDC fan drawing 28 W costs about ₹565. The cheaper fan is ₹1,500 ahead on day one and roughly ₹1,400 behind by the end of the second summer, and it keeps losing every year after that.

Over a ten-year life the ₹3,500 fan is around ₹8,000 better off. That is the single most reliable saving available in an Indian home, and it is why we print the annual running cost next to the price on every fan.

About these prices

Every figure comes from the manufacturer's own store or site, read on 17 September 2026 — not from a marketplace and not from a price-comparison feed. That is a stricter standard and it usually produces a higher number than the street price, so treat these as a ceiling rather than a floor. Amazon and Flipkart are frequently cheaper in sale weeks, and every fan on this site links to both.

Six brands people expect are missing for one reason: no verifiable price. Usha's site sits behind a bot wall; Polycab, V-Guard, Luminous, Khaitan, Candes and Polar publish no reachable catalogue; RR Kabel publishes full specifications but no prices at all.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of a ceiling fan in India?
On manufacturer prices in September 2026, from ₹1,915 for a basic high-speed fan and ₹1,999 for the cheapest BLDC one. Good BLDC fans cluster at ₹2,500-5,500, decorative and underlight models at ₹3,500-9,000, and designer fans from ₹15,000 upward.
Which is the best ceiling fan under ₹3,000?
At that budget, prioritise a BLDC motor over finish — 41 verified fans sell under ₹3,000 and several are BLDC. A BLDC fan at ₹2,900 will cost about ₹950 a year less to run than an induction fan at ₹2,200, so it is ahead within a year.
Are cheap ceiling fans worth buying?
A ₹2,000 induction fan from a known brand is a sound product, but it is the expensive option over time because of what it draws. If the fan will run daily, stretching to a BLDC model is almost always the better purchase.
Why are BLDC fans more expensive?
The motor needs permanent magnets and an electronic controller rather than a simple induction winding, which costs more to build. The premium is about ₹1,000-2,000 and is recovered in roughly two summers of normal use.
