The mini fridge market under ₹8,000 is mostly thermoelectric Peltier units that cannot cool more than about 20 °C below the room, which in an Indian summer means they do not refrigerate at all. This Midea has a real compressor, and that single fact separates it from most of what it sits next to online.
Within 41 L it does what it needs to: holds proper temperature regardless of ambient, makes ice in the chiller box, and takes up a 490 × 450 mm patch of floor or shelf. Build is basic and the door bins are shallow, but nothing here is likely to fail early.
Buy it as the cheapest sound option for a hostel room or office cabin. Pay the extra ₹1,000 for the Haier 53 L if you want more space and a better-supported service network — for a machine you will keep for years, that is the more sensible ₹9,000.
