Our verdict
This is the right recommendation when the budget genuinely stops at ₹15,000, and it is an honest machine rather than a compromised one. Whirlpool's cooling in the fresh-food compartment is better than the price suggests, and the Honeydew crisper is not a marketing name — the drawer holds humidity properly and coriander survives a week in it, which it does not in most rivals.
The trade is running cost and noise. A reciprocating compressor switches on and off with an audible click and a hum, where an inverter unit modulates continuously and is close to silent. And 176 units against the LG's 108 is about ₹545 a year. If you can find another ₹3,000, the 5-star inverter machines are the better ten-year purchase and we would push you there.
Buy it if ₹15,000 is a hard ceiling, if your kitchen gap is narrow, or if you are in a town where Whirlpool's service presence is stronger than LG's or Samsung's — a fridge you can get repaired in two days beats a marginally more efficient one you cannot.
