Over a ten-year life that is nearly ₹6,000, which is a third of what the fridge cost. Buyers reliably underweight this because the star label is abstract and the price tag is not.
What you give up is frost-free operation. Once a month, ice builds up in the freezer box thickly enough that you have to switch off, empty it and wait. If that sounds like an unacceptable chore, you want a double door and you should budget about ₹8,000 more.
