Our verdict
The French door layout solves the side-by-side's real weakness. Fresh-food shelves run the full width of the cabinet, so the tray, the cake box and the half watermelon all fit, while the twin doors mean you only expose half the cabinet at a time. The freezer goes in a drawer at the bottom, which is where the compartment you open twice a day belongs.
It is also more efficient than the side-by-sides, which is not obvious. 322 units a year against Samsung's own 653 L side-by-side at 341, despite similar usable volume — partly the half-door opening, partly a simpler airflow path with no through-door dispenser cutting the envelope. Twin Cooling Plus keeps the freezer drawer on its own circuit, so nothing tastes of anything else.
The omission is the water dispenser, and at ₹90,000 that stings when the side-by-side has one for ₹5,000 less. If through-door water is what you want, buy the side-by-side. If storing bulky items without a fight is what you want, this is the better refrigerator and it is not close.
