Catalogue listing — not a hands-on review
We have not tested this unit. The specifications below are parsed from the manufacturer's own listing, the features are their wording, and the score is calculated from those specifications rather than assigned by an editor. For models we have examined in depth, see our ranked air purifiers guides.
At ₹17,999 (MRP ₹24,990, so 28% off on the day we checked), the Winix 5520 is one of Winix's air purifiers on Amazon.in. It is priced about where most air purifiers here sit, around ₹14,890.
There is no CADR on the listing, only a rated room size of 881 sq ft. Without CADR there is no reliable way to compare its output, so treat the room-size claim with caution.
This is a catalogue entry, not a hands-on review. Every number above is taken from Winix's Amazon.in listing (ASIN B0DT4F8T4L) as it stood on 12 October 2026, and the score is worked out from those numbers alone.
Every condition below is derived from this product's published specifications and from how it compares with the air purifiers we track — so you can check each one against your own room, supply or budget rather than take our word for it.
Your room is bigger than about 440 sq ft
It is rated for 881 sq ft, but that assumes roughly one air change an hour. For visible results in Indian winter conditions, halve it — which puts the realistic ceiling near 440 sq ft.
Work out the CADR you need →You are trying to remove smells, smoke or gases
No meaningful activated-carbon stage is fitted. HEPA captures particulate and does nothing whatsoever for gases and odours — this is the most common mismatch in the category.
Purifiers with real carbon filtration →You want to verify it is working rather than trust it
There is no numeric PM2.5 readout. A colour ring cannot tell you the room went from 180 to 22 µg/m³, and it cannot tell you the filter is exhausted.
You live outside a metro or a major service town
Winix's service network is rated limited rather than excellent. Filter availability and callout times are what decide whether a purifier is still running in five years, and they are worth checking for your pin code before you buy.

Specifications are from manufacturer literature and were checked at the last price-verification date. Brands occasionally revise stage counts, tank sizes and warranty terms without changing the model name — confirm against the current listing before purchasing.
