Pros
  • Handles input TDS up to 2,000 ppm, which covers almost every Indian borewell
  • Save Water technology recovers roughly 50% versus the 20-25% of older RO designs
  • TDS controller lets you dial mineral retention rather than stripping the water flat
  • 9-litre tank is genuinely enough for a family of five during a supply cut
  • Eureka Forbes' direct service network is the most reliable in India — company technicians, not just franchisees
  • Compact and genuinely well-finished; it looks like a modern appliance
  • Mineral Guard plus MTDS gives real control over output taste
  • Active Copper stage can be switched off if you do not want it
Cons
  • Bulky and visually dated; it will dominate a small kitchen wall
  • UV lamp is a serial consumable and adds to the AMC after year three
  • No hot water option in this model
  • 6-litre tank is small for a family of five during a long supply cut
  • Consumables cost more than KENT's over five years
  • 'UV e-boiling' is marketing language for UV sterilisation — it does not boil anything

The deciding factors

If someone asks for one water purifier recommendation without telling me anything about their water, this is the answer. The Grand Plus is not the prettiest or the cheapest unit in this list, but it is the most consistently correct one: an RO membrane rated to 2,000 ppm input, UV and UF stages behind it, and a TDS controller so that low-TDS supply does not get stripped to tasteless.

Against that, Aquaguard Delight NXT makes its case differently: The Delight NXT is what I recommend to people who have been burned by bad service. Purification-wise it is closely matched with the KENT Grand Plus — same 2,000 ppm ceiling, same core stages — so the decision comes down to two things: tank size and who shows up when it breaks. KENT gives you 9 litres; Aquaguard gives you 6 litres and Eureka Forbes' direct field force, which in my experience is the most dependable in Indian appliances.

Our practical advice: unless the KENT Grand Plus's specific advantages match a real constraint you have — tank size for long water cuts, a higher TDS rating for brackish supply, hot water you will genuinely use — the cheaper unit is the better purchase. In this category, paying for capability you will never use is the most common way money gets wasted.
