The deciding factors
Almost every purifier sold in India stores purified water in a sealed plastic tank at room temperature for hours at a time. In a Chennai or Kochi summer, that is an excellent environment for biofilm, and it is the failure mode nobody markets against. LG's answer is the right one on both counts: a stainless-steel tank that resists colonisation, and an automatic UV cycle that sterilises the tank and the outlet tap every couple of hours whether you remember to think about it or not.
Against that, KENT Pearl RO makes its case differently: The Pearl is the Grand Plus's engineering in a counter-top body, plus one genuinely valuable addition: a UV lamp inside the storage tank. Most purifiers sterilise water on the way in and then let it sit in a warm plastic tank for hours, which is exactly how biofilm forms. Keeping the tank itself under UV is the right answer to a real problem, particularly in humid coastal cities.
Our practical advice: unless the LG PuriCare WW182EP's specific advantages match a real constraint you have — tank size for long water cuts, a higher TDS rating for brackish supply, hot water you will genuinely use — the cheaper unit is the better purchase.
