When this is not a good choice

• Your room is bigger than about 465 sq ft

  It is rated for 930 sq ft, but that assumes roughly one air change an hour. For visible results in Indian winter conditions, halve it — which puts the realistic ceiling near 465 sq ft.

• You are trying to remove smells, smoke or gases

  No meaningful activated-carbon stage is fitted. HEPA captures particulate and does nothing whatsoever for gases and odours — this is the most common mismatch in the category.

• You want to verify it is working rather than trust it

  There is no numeric PM2.5 readout. A colour ring cannot tell you the room went from 180 to 22 µg/m³, and it cannot tell you the filter is exhausted.

• You live outside a metro or a major service town

  Coway's service network is rated limited rather than excellent. Filter availability and callout times are what decide whether a purifier is still running in five years, and they are worth checking for your pin code before you buy.
