360-degree intake for large open living spaces
Our editorial score
Very good — recommended
Large open-plan drawing rooms and villas where one unit must cover a big volume.
Most air purifiers pull air from one face, which means placement matters enormously and a unit shoved into a corner underperforms badly. LG's 360-degree intake removes that constraint, and combined with the Clean Booster fan it is the only single unit here I would trust to handle a genuinely large open-plan living and dining space.
PM1.0 sensing is a real technical step up — the finest particles are the ones that reach deepest into the lungs, and most purifiers cannot even see them. It is expensive, but if the alternative is three separate purifiers in one open space, the maths is closer than it looks.
Every condition below is derived from this product's published specifications and from how it compares with the air purifiers we track — so you can check each one against your own room, supply or budget rather than take our word for it.
Your room is bigger than about 485 sq ft
It is rated for 968 sq ft, but that assumes roughly one air change an hour. For visible results in Indian winter conditions, halve it — which puts the realistic ceiling near 485 sq ft.
Work out the CADR you need →You need it quiet at the speed that actually works
It reaches 52 dB at its loudest setting. That is fine in a living room and intrusive in a bedroom, and the quiet modes on most purifiers move far less air.
Compare noise across the database →You are trying to remove smells, smoke or gases
No meaningful activated-carbon stage is fitted. HEPA captures particulate and does nothing whatsoever for gases and odours — this is the most common mismatch in the category.
Purifiers with real carbon filtration →You want the HEPA grade stated rather than implied
The brand claims HEPA filtration without naming a grade. H11 and H14 are very different filters, and only 2 of the 13 air purifiers we track name theirs.
See which brands publish a grade →Low running cost is a priority
Consumables and routine service run about ₹4,800 a year, which is in the most expensive quarter of the air purifiers we track. Over five years that puts total ownership near ₹66,990.
Sort the database by five-year cost →Weak transparency. This is separate from our review score above — it measures how well documented, how supportable and how expensive to own this air purifier is, scored on 7 of 7 axes by formula, with no manual override. See the methodology.

Specifications are from manufacturer literature and were checked at the last price-verification date. Brands occasionally revise stage counts, tank sizes and warranty terms without changing the model name — confirm against the current listing before purchasing.
LG's purifiers are the premium engineering choice: stainless-steel tanks instead of plastic, dual-protection UV that sterilises the tank and the tap, and a self-sterilising cycle. If tank hygiene is your concern — and with Indian ambient temperatures it should be — this is the answer. In refrigerators, LG is the most consistently recommended brand in India: the Smart Inverter Compressor carries a ten-year warranty, holds temperature within a tighter band than reciprocating designs, and runs quietly enough to be unobtrusive in an open-plan flat.
