Mattress vacuums are a category where the marketing outruns the evidence, and it is worth being precise. The UV-C lamp does far less than the listing implies: contact time as the head moves is short, and the lamp does not reach mites living inside the mattress. What genuinely reduces allergen load is mechanical — strong suction plus a beater bar pulling skin scale and mite debris out of the surface, captured in a fine filter. This machine does that part well.
So buy it for the suction and the head design, and treat the UV as a bonus rather than the reason. On that basis, for a household where someone reacts to dust mites, a dedicated mattress vacuum used fortnightly alongside hot-washing bedding is a sensible addition.
