Cuts my coarse beard without pulling
My Philips was catching on the thick part under my chin. This does not, at all. Being able to rinse the whole thing under the tap is a bigger deal than I expected. Charging is slow, that is the only downside.
Brand: Panasonic
Japanese blade quality in a washable, well-priced trimmer
Our editorial score
Very good — recommended
Coarse or dense beards where the Philips BT3211 feels like it is dragging rather than cutting.
The case for spending ₹2,800 on a trimmer instead of ₹1,700 comes down to blade metallurgy. Panasonic's blades are ground to a 45-degree nanopolished edge, and on coarse, thick beard hair the difference against a conventional trimmer blade is genuinely noticeable — hair is sliced rather than caught and pulled. If your current trimmer feels like it is tugging on the dense patch under your jaw, this is the fix.
The full washability is the other reason to choose it over the Philips. The BT3211's body must stay dry and only its head detaches, which means brushing hair out of the housing forever. The ER-GB37 goes under the tap whole, which after two years is a meaningfully better ownership experience.
Its weaknesses are the brand's rather than the product's. Eight hours to charge a NiMH battery is a 2015 specification in a 2026 product, and Panasonic's Indian service reach is nowhere near Philips'. If you trim on a routine and can charge overnight, neither will trouble you. If you want the convenience features, the BT3211 remains the better all-rounder.
Every condition below is derived from this product's published specifications and from how it compares with the trimmers and shavers we track — so you can check each one against your own room, supply or budget rather than take our word for it.
You live outside a metro or a major service town
Panasonic's service network is rated limited rather than excellent. Filter availability and callout times are what decide whether a purifier is still running in five years, and they are worth checking for your pin code before you buy.

Specifications are from manufacturer literature and were checked at the last price-verification date. Brands occasionally revise stage counts, tank sizes and warranty terms without changing the model name — confirm against the current listing before purchasing.
The engineer's choice, and the most under-bought premium shaver brand in India. Panasonic's Arc series is built around two specifications nobody else matches: blades ground to a 30-degree nanopolished edge, and a linear motor spinning at 14,000 cycles per minute against Braun's roughly 10,000. The practical effect is that an Arc5 or Arc6 cuts thick, coarse, fast-growing beard hair — the common Indian beard type — in fewer passes and with less irritation than anything else sold here. Poor retail presence, not product, is why so few Indian buyers own one.
Themes we see consistently in owner feedback for this model. These are illustrative of reported experience rather than a statistical sample — read the current marketplace reviews too, and weight recent ones most heavily.
