If you groom below the neck more than occasionally, this is the machine to buy. The pearl-tip design is the reason: every tooth on the blade is rounded rather than square-cut, so there is no sharp edge that can catch a fold of loose skin. That sounds like a detail until you consider that nicks in the groin are the single reason most men abandon body grooming, and this is the specification that prevents them.
Bi-directional cutting is the second thing worth paying for. Body grooming involves awkward angles where you cannot make a clean directional stroke — under the arm, around the groin, across the lower back. A trimmer that only cuts on the forward stroke forces repeated passes there; this one cuts both ways and gets it done in fewer.

Better than the cheaper Philips
Had the BG1025 before. The one hour charge and the extra guards are worth the difference if you use it weekly. Back hair still needs two passes but that is true of everything at this price.
