A high-rise flat — pressure, tanks, and why height does not mean clean air
The problem
In a tower, your water has been pumped to an overhead tank and gravity-fed back down, and both stages matter. Pressure at a high floor immediately below the tank can be too low for an RO unit to operate without a booster.
The tank itself is the single most important variable in the chain and the one residents have least visibility of.
On the air side, height helps modestly with road-level dust and much less with the fine particulate that dominates urban AQI. Meanwhile sealed, air-conditioned towers have lower ventilation rates, which concentrates indoor-generated pollutants.
What this situation actually needs
Requirements first, in the order they matter. Note that several of these are not products.
Adequate feed pressure
RO units need a minimum pressure to operate, and gravity head is small on the top floors.
Booster pump where measured pressure is below the unit's requirement
Tank hygiene in the building
An uncleaned overhead tank contaminates water regardless of what enters the building.
Recorded society cleaning schedule; escalate if there is none
Disinfection at point of use
Stored water in a shared tank is a plausible contamination point you do not control.
UV or UF stage regardless of TDS
Ventilation strategy in a sealed building
Low air exchange concentrates indoor-generated pollutants that filtration does not remove.
Scheduled ventilation when outdoor AQI permits; source control for cooking and VOCs
The specification
Written as a specification rather than a product name, deliberately. A specification survives a model being discontinued and can be taken to any shop; a product recommendation expires.

What to avoid
In every one of these situations there is a purchase that looks obviously right and is wrong.
Assuming a high floor has clean air
Fine particulate is well mixed through the urban boundary layer. Height helps with coarse road dust and much less with PM2.5.
Buying an RO without checking pressure
On the floors immediately below the overhead tank there may not be enough head to run it. This presents as 'not filling' and gets blamed on the membrane.
Trusting the building's inlet water report
The sump, the pump, the overhead tank and the risers all sit between that point and your tap.
Sealing a tower flat completely and never ventilating
Low air exchange concentrates cooking emissions, VOCs and formaldehyde that no purifier fully removes.
