A road-facing bedroom — sealing matters as much as filtering
The problem
Proximity to a busy road raises indoor concentrations of both particulate and nitrogen dioxide, and the effect falls off sharply with distance — a flat on the street side and one on the courtyard side of the same building are not comparable.
The mechanism is infiltration, which continues whether or not the windows are open. In a leaky flat, outdoor air refills the room as fast as a purifier can clean it, which is why buying more CADR often disappoints.
There is also a timing dimension people miss: traffic pollution peaks at predictable hours, and ventilating outside those hours costs nothing.
What this situation actually needs
Requirements first, in the order they matter. Note that several of these are not products.
Infiltration reduction on the road-facing side
In a leaky room, a purifier is fighting a continuous inflow rather than a fixed load.

In every one of these situations there is a purchase that looks obviously right and is wrong.
Buying more CADR before sealing the room
A leaky room refills as fast as it is cleaned. Sealing costs a few hundred rupees and changes what any purifier can achieve.
Ventilating on the road side during peak traffic
It undoes the filtration entirely for the duration, and the peak hours are predictable enough to plan around.
Expecting a purifier to handle NO₂
It is a gas. HEPA does nothing and standard carbon has limited capacity. Infiltration control is the effective intervention.
